Portsoy Loop
From Huntly Town Square head north up Castle Street and left at the War Memorial onto West Park Street. Follow this road to the end and take a left followed by an immediate right along a path, which starts as a rough track but turns into a paved surface. Follow this until the end and enter the pavement at Deveron Road. Turn right and keep right until reaching a bridge crossing the River Deveron.
After crossing the bridge over the River Deveron turn right onto the dirt walkway beside the Portsoy road (B9022) and continue along this for 1km until the walkway ends and take a right down the road signposted to the Castle Hotel.
Go along this road for 1km until reaching the driveway to the Castle Hotel, take a right here down past the Hotel onto the walkway to the bridge crossing the River Deveron.
Follow the road around to the left, circling the ruins of Huntly Castle on the left, and head up the tree-lined road past The Gordon Schools. Keep heading straight until returning to Huntly Square.

A 5km loop around Huntly using the Portsoy Road path. Mainly on tarmacked paths and pavements, with a section of hardpack dirt walkway beside a main road.
Difficulty
Easy: Generally a smooth firm surface with well drained and minimal loose material. Suitable for all types of bikes. Riders with good health and basic bike skills.
