Starting in Huntly Square, head north past the Gordon Schools (1) and down the beautiful Avenue. You will see Huntly Castle emerge at the bottom of the Avenue (2) at which time you bear left onto the riverside and walk through the Deveron Park and the Nordic ski and Outdoor Centre (3).
Follow the river along for approximately 1.5km. You will go up and over a bridge using wooden stairs before coming back down the other side (4)
Follow the river again until the river meets the Huntly-Dufftown Road (5). At this point, walk for a very short section along the side of the road back towards Huntly and take the first left towards a farm and a couple of residential properties (6). Follow the road under the A96 and at the end, turn right and (7) follow the road and then footpath back into Huntly Town Centre.
A wander along the River Deveron using quiet roads, foot and cycle paths, and informal walkers paths. Be careful of the paths next to the Deveron past the road bridge becoming overgrown in summer.
